Tras su lanzamiento en Estados Unidos en julio, la expectación por la llegada del dispositivo a Europa era máxima. La espera ha acabado: Nexus 7 ya está disponible en Google Play, la tienda online de Google.
Desarrollada por Asus, la tableta dispone de una pantalla de siete pulgadas de alta definición (1280×800), un procesador Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core -con cuatro núcleos-, 1 GB de RAM, cámara frontal de 1,2 MP, Wi-Fi, MicroUSB, GPS y un peso de 340 g. Además, incluye por defecto el sistema operativo de Android 4.1, Jelly Bean.
El dispositivo de 8GB tendrá un precio de salida de 199 euros, mientras que la versión de 16GB costará 249 euros. Durante un tiempo limitado, la adquisición incluye hasta 20 euros de crédito para gastar en Google Play Store. El periodo de entrega del dispositivo desde la tienda online se estima entre unos tres y cinco días laborables desde su compra.
La Nexus 7 llegará a las tiendas físicas el 3 de septiembre. Grandes superficies como Carrefour, El Corte Inglés, MediaMarkt o The Phone House dispondrán de stock suficiente, si bien en algunas ya se puede reservar la tableta, como es el caso de Fnac. Se espera que este dispositivo pueda vender hasta ocho millones de unidades antes de que finalice 2012.
