Según el cofundador de la startup la app para Android funciona en algunos aspectos mejor que en iOS.Hasta el momento sólo los usuarios de un iPhone o un iPad han podido disfrutar de la aplicación Instagram. Ésta permite a los usuarios introducirse en el mundo de la fotografía y poner a prueba su creatividad: hacer fotos, añadir filtros y publicarlas en las redes sociales.
Kevin Systrom, cofundador de la startup, ha revelado el evento SXSW (un encuentro de música, cine y tecnologías interactivas celebrado en Austin) que están preparando la llegada de la aplicación al sistema operativo móvil de Google.
Systrom ha dicho además que en algunos aspectos la app “es mejor que la de iOS”. La aplicación se encuentra ahora en una versión de prueba privada, pero llegará “muy pronto”.
En noviembre de 2011, con apenas 13 de meses de vida, la aplicación había sido descargada 13 millones de veces. En los últimos 5 meses éstas se han disparado y han registrado 14 millones más, según Venture Beat.
Así, Systrom ha podido informar, orgulloso, de que la versión para los dispositivos de Apple ha superado ya los 27 millones de descargas. Se espera que esta cifra se dispare cuando llegue a los dispositivos Android.
